PSAL play ends with Bronx students in all-star games
? The PSAL 2006 schedule wrapped up this week with its all-star games in several sports, including baseball where many Bronx players rounded out the roster.
Eleven Bronx high school students played in the all-star game at St. John?s University. Stevenson?s Virgili Gonzalez got an RBI in the first inning to help put his Manhattan-Queens-Bronx team up 2-0. Monroe?s Danny Almonte retired the six batters he faced. The Brooklyn-Staten Island team turned the tide though. The team scored six runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-2 lead.
Brooklyn-Staten Island took the game 8-2.
