Prosecutors say a Patchogue man exposed himself and performed a lewd act across the street from a preschool.

They say 68-year-old Lawrence Gartner did so in front of his apartment window in March while children were being released from a Long Island Head Start.

Gartner was charged with public lewdness and released.

He is due back in court Thursday when a judge will decide if Gartner should be placed on supervised release.
