Suffolk police say a wrong-way driver was killed and another driver was injured Thursday in a Melville crash.

They say Marie Louis was driving a Honda Civic westbound in the eastbound lanes of Express Drive South at Maxess Road when her car collided head-on with a Mercedes-Benz driven by Venetia Atkinson, just after 11 p.m.

Louis, of North Amityville, was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Atkinson, of North Baldwin, was treated for serious injuries at the hospital.
