Uber Eats driver reunites with stolen dog; thanks thief for ‘having a heart’

A Bay Shore woman was reunited with her dog after a man allegedly stole her car with the pet inside. 
Police say Danielle Carter's car was stolen while she was doing a delivery for Uber Eats early Saturday morning in West Babylon. 
Carter says she usually takes her 13-year-old dog, Brownie, with her when makes deliveries. 
She says her Samsung galaxy phone was taken along with Brownie, who was sleeping in the backseat. 
On Sunday morning, police say Carter’s car was found on Circle Drive in Wheatley Heights. They say the vehicle was running with the dog inside. 
Carter was happy to be reunited with Brownie. 
“Everything came back. Nothing was broken. My car is fine. My phone is fine. My dog is safe, says Carter. 
Carter did share an unexpected message for the thief.  
“Whoever the thief is, thank you,” says Carter. “You left the heat on. You left my car running. At least you had a heart.” 
Suffolk police are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made.
