A series of hateful and racist flyers was found on Western Connecticut State University's Midtown Campus.
Students gathered on campus Monday to show a united front and to say hatred will not be tolerated.
"We're not going to be quiet and just sweep it under the rug," said senior Chantel Williams. "We're going to address it, and we're going to be in your face about it and we're not just going to let it go to the side."
The flyers were hung up in residence halls and classrooms Halloween night. A neo-Nazi flag was also put up.
A racial slur was written in graffiti on the school's Westside Campus. The school is not sure if both incidents are connected but is investigating.
Surveillance video on campus did pick up a handful of people hanging up the flyers, but it was Halloween and the people were in disguise.
The president of the university called this an attack on the university community and says they are working with police and the FBI to find the perpetrators.
Campus spokesperson Paul Steinmetz says the university will not stand for this type of hatred.
"We are a safe haven for study and learning and that's what we talk about all the time and what we emphasize," said Steinmetz. "And so we push back against people who would do this kind of thing."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Danbury police.
