(AP) - Police on Long Island are investigatingthe death of a woman with Down syndrome who was found floating facedown in a swimming pool.
Suffolk County police say witnesses told investigators that the26-year-old woman was in the pool with other adults and children ata home in Holbrook on Saturday.
Police say the witnesses said the victim was wearing a lifejacket but was left unattended when the others got out of the poolto eat on a nearby deck.
Police say someone noticed the woman floating in the pool about10 minutes later.
Police say the woman was rushed by ambulance to a hospital. Theysay she was pronounced dead about 1½ hours later.
The woman's death remains under investigation.
