Nassau police say a woman's body was found Sunday morning at Milburn Pond in Baldwin.
Detectives say officers responded to reports of a body in the water at 7:50 a.m.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A cause of death was not immediately known.
Police said they are working to figure out how the woman died and how her body ended up in the pond.
Police closed several roads in the area while they conducted an investigation at the park.
Freeport police helped with closing Merrick Road at Milburn Avenue near the Coral House catering venue, and South Brookside Avenue near Freeport High School.
