Police made an arrest at a home in Glen Cove Thursday after receiving complaints that it was a drug den.
Police executed a search warrant on Ravine Avenue in Glen Cove Thursday, where they say they found 48 grams of cocaine, 73 grams of Molly, digital scales, packaging materials, a loaded .45 caliber pistol and $42,000 in cash.
Josue Escobar, 22, was arrested and is facing a slew of drug and weapon charges. Detective Lt. John Nagle says Escobar was selling drugs out of the same home that he shares with his parents, wife and 15-month-old son. Authorities say their case was months in the making.
Police say they don't believe Escobar's family was involved in the drug operation. They added that drugs and the gun were well within the reach of the toddler.
The Glen Cove Police Department recently reinstated its crime prevention unit within the last year, and Mayor Reginald Spinello says the arrest sends a message the community.
