Police say a man was shot and killed in North Bellport early this morning.

They say that just before 1 a.m., Suffolk County Shot Spotter technology picked up shots that were fired on Bellport Avenue.

Family members identified the victim as 52-year-old Robert Burks. They say he was shot in the head, possibly execution-style, in a driveway of an abandoned house. They say the house is a few feet from where he lived.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
