Cops say they were trying to arrest Darryl Coad on drug charges when he punched an officer in the face.

LONG BEACH - Cops are searching for the man they say assaulted a Nassau police officer in Long Beach.

Police say they were trying to arrest Darryl Coad on drug charges when he punched an officer in the face, breaking the officer's jaw.

It happened on National Boulevard and Hudson Street last month.

Coad lives in Long Beach, but also has ties to Hempstead and Queens.

Anyone with information on where Coad may be is asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
