New signage has been posted and barricades have been put up along Flatbush Avenue in Park Slope to keep traffic flowing and intersections clear during the busiest times of the day.

The improvements are part of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s plan to ease congestion in the area.

Part of the plan includes clearing the curb: Drivers will not be allowed to stop to make drop-offs or deliveries along Flatbush Avenue between Tillary Street and Grand Army Plaza between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., and then again between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Police were out enforcing the new regulations Monday morning. There were barricades along the sidewalk, and several cars that were parked in the area were towed away.

The regulations will allow expeditious pickup and drop-off of passengers and deliveries to off-street loading docks.

The Department of Transportation is expected to monitor the effects of the initiatives and assess the plan in about six months.
