A Newsday truck was rear-ended, before an alleged drunken driver fled the scene Tuesday morning in Deer Park.
Police say 22-year-old Kaleel Felder, of Deer Park, smashed into the back of the Newsday truck near the 7-Eleven on Long Island Avenue at around 2 a.m.
Officers say they witnessed the crash and that Felder took off when they approached.
He eventually crashed into a tree and was taken to the hospital for minor head injuries.
The Newsday driver was not injured.
