Police: Man critically injured in Holbrook crash

A man was critically injured in a crash on Nicolls Road in Holbrook Thursday night, Suffolk police say.

A man was critically injured in a crash on Nicolls Road in Holbrook Thursday night, Suffolk police say.
The incident happened just before 9 p.m. Thursday on the southbound side of the Greenbelt Parkway.
News 12 is told that Frank Maggio, 20, was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer northbound on Nicolls Road when he lost control of the vehicle while changing lanes. Maggio’s vehicle overturned and crossed the center median where it was struck by a southbound Nissan Murano.
Maggio, of Centereach, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Nissan, Amanda Recchia, 24, of Patchogue, and her passenger, Dan Fey, 25, of Miller Place, were transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
