Police say they have arrested the couple behind a string of Rockville Centre car break-ins.
Dawn Goldstein, 29, of Elmont, and Richard Alvarez, 37, of Valley Stream, are the couple police say are responsible for the break-ins.
Police say the couple was seen in surveillance video walking into a CVS in Baldwin where they allegedly tried to use a credit card that was stolen out of one of the cars.
According to police, one break-in happened behind a row of stores on Maple Avenue next to the Rockville Centre police station on Wednesday night. The other happened two blocks away within a three-hour timeframe.
Detectives say they tracked what they believed to be Alvarez’s car.
Both Alvarez and Goldstein were charged with three counts of grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal mischief.
Alvarez was charged with an additional count of criminal mischief and was held on $50,000 bail at his arraignment Tuesday. Goldstein was arraigned on Feb. 3.
