An 11-year-old boy was struck by a woman driving a Honda in Oceanside Friday afternoon, police say.
The accident happened as the boy crossed Merrick Road in front of South Nassau Community Hospital at around 3 p.m.
The child was airlifted to Nassau University Medical Center, which has a pediatric intensive care unit. He was admitted in serious condition, officials say.
Investigators say they performed break and safety checks on the 58-year-old woman's vehicle and determined there was no criminality involved in the accident.
