Police car strikes person on University Avenue
Witnesses say a police car with its lights and siren off hit a person who was crossing University Avenue early Tuesday morning.
According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the collision sent a 20-year-old woman flying into the air and crashing onto the windshield of the patrol vehicle.
EMS responders say the victim was taken to Saint Barnabas in stable condition. The injured police officers who were riding in the cruiser were taken to Lincoln Hospital, and they are also listed in stable condition.
