Three people were hurt early Sunday morning when a SUV crashed a house in West Babylon, according to police.
Authorities say Cristian Banega Salmendares was driving south on Great East Neck Road when he lost control of his vehicle.
The car went off the road, hit a low barring concrete wall, went airborne and then crashed into the house at 128 Great East Neck Rd.
Police say a family living inside the home were sleeping at the time. A married couple inside and the driver were hospitalized with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The incident damaged a fence near the house and left a massive hole in the home.
Neighbors told News 12 that many cars speed down the street.
"You shouldn’t have a car come through your living room,” said a resident. “You should feel safe.”
Suffolk police told News 12 that hours after the crash, a second one took place off Great East Neck Road just after 8 p.m. Sunday morning at the intersection of Fern Terrace and Crocus Court.
“There was another crash right here on the corner. A car flipped over, I think there were four cars involved," says neighbor Ken Ashford.
The cause of both crashes is being investigated by authorities.
