11h agoA person was killed when their vehicle crashed into the 'Welcome to Jones Beach' monument Tuesday, according to police.
State police say the crash happened on the southbound side of the Meadowbrook Parkway around 8 a.m. Tuesday.
The car involved was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed into the sign at Exit M10 and caught fire, police say.
Police say the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police are asking anyone with information to call 631-756-3300.
