A Westbury man is accused of going on a summer-long burglary spree in his hometown.
Officers say they spotted 37-year-old Jean Pierre attempting to ride away from the JN Mini-Mart on Prospect Avenue around 4:15 a.m. Saturday on a bicycle.
Police say Pierre broke the window of the business and took the cash register.
Detectives linked Pierre to at least six other break-ins and burglaries between June 8 and July 15 at laundromats and restaurants, also in Westbury.
The manager of JN Mini-Mart says Pierre got away about $300, phone cards and some cigars.
It was revealed in court Sunday that Pierre has a criminal history, with 11 prior arrests.
He is being charged with seven counts of burglary. His bond was set at $140,000.
Pierre is due back in court on July 19.
