An Albanian man says he was randomly attacked on Lydig Avenue in Allerton Friday morning.
Police say the 25-year-old was walking around 10 a.m. when he was confronted by a woman. His family says the woman spit on the man's shoe and when he turned around to find out why, he was attacked.
Surveillance video of the incident shows a group of men punching the victim repeatedly.
The victim's family says the man was on his way to get his passport photos taken for a green card appointment, but instead spent that afternoon in the emergency room at NYC Health + Hospitals Jacobi where he is expected to undergo surgery for a broken jaw.
The family says they're hoping anyone with information will contact authorities. Police say they're still looking for an unknown number of suspects.
