A 59-year-old woman who was thrown from her car in a crash on the Merritt Parkway Sunday night has died, police say.

The crash happened just south of Exit 50 around 7 p.m.

State police say the driver of an SUV in the left lane lost control after colliding with a car in the right lane and struck the guard rail in the right shoulder. They say the SUV then crossed the right and left lanes and rolled over.

The driver, 59-year-old Pamela Maestri-Howes from Easton, was thrown from the car and landed on the other side of the parkway.
