One person was killed after two brothers were shot in Soundview Sunday night just after 9 p.m outside their home.

Police and EMS responded to the shooting in the grass area across the street from the Soundview Houses on Randall Avenue.

According to police, the brothers were outside when the suspect started shooting. Stephon Brown, 19, was shot in the back and the 21-year-old brother was shot in the arm.

Both victims were taken to NYC Health and Hospitals Jacobi. Brown died from his injuries and the 21-year-old victim remains in stable condition.

Friends in the area tell News 12, the 21-year-old victim is named Rory.

Police are searching for the suspect who fled the scene, no arrests have been made.
