The Phoenix are ready to turn up the heat in the South Bronx this season after winning only a combined total of five games in two seasons.

A record number of students have come out for this year's squad, however, only six of the 35 players slated to play are starters from last season. The South Bronx football squad says it is out to prove something this year after winning three straight at the end of last year.

The Phoenix are banking on the success of last year's JV team, which went 6-2.
