Anyone traveling to the city for the 92nd Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday should dress warmly, pack light and leave early.
There will be tight security at the parade, meaning the bags of all 3.2 million spectators will be searched.
Heavy weapons teams will be out as well as radiation detection along the parade route.
Thursday will be sunny, but windy and frigid with temperatures only hitting the mid-20s. The frosty temps will feel even colder with gusty winds, and those winds could impact the parade balloons.
The parade will start at 9 a.m. at West 77th Street and Central Park West before ending in front of Macy's Herald Square.
Among the performers this year are Diana Ross, John Legend, Ashley Tisdale and the Muppets.
