A longtime landfill on Long Island could reportedly become a new recycling center.

According to Newsday, the Old Bethpage landfill could be converted into a facility to process recyclables and solid waste.

The landfill is off Round Swamp Road, just north of the Bethpage State Park golf courses.

Oyster Bay town officials have reportedly hired consulting firms to look into the transformation.
