WOODBURY - Officials say that alcohol contributed to the death of Northwestern University student Harsha Maddula, from Long Island, last September.

Maddula, 18, was found in a Chicago harbor near the school. He was last seen alive leaving a party.

Officials say that Maddula’s blood alcohol content was one-and-a-half times the legal limit and have ruled his death accidental. They believe that Maddula may have lost his balance on a pier and fell into the water.
