Officials say two construction workers were injured after a wall collapsed during a building demolition on Canal Street Monday afternoon.

Emergency services, police and firefighters all responded to the incident. 

Deputy Fire Chief Pat Tripodi says a worker was on the roof of the building and, as he was cutting away at concrete, he fell fell 12 feet to the next floor.

Emergency services and the fire department put the man in a Stokes basket and loaded him into the tower bucket to get him back down to the ground. 

Officials say he is expected to recover.

The second worker suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
