Official proposes zombie homes for veterans plan
A Suffolk official is proposing a plan to that would combat veteran homelessness.
Rep. Steve Israel (D - Huntington) is proposing a plan to give grants to veteran service organizations to buy blighted and abandoned homes.
There are an estimated 4,000 "zombie homes" on Long Island.
