A fire broke out Monday at a Lynbrook building, according to a fire official.

The building on Merrick Road housed a business on the ground floor and apartments above it.

Ten fire departments reported to the scene following a 911 call at around 1 p.m.

Fire officials say the fire is contained, but not yet under control.

The Red Cross says 15 adults and nine children were displaced.

No injuries were reported.
