A Nassau man is accused of murdering his pregnant girlfriend and dumping her body along the Horace Harding Expressway in Bayside, Queens.
The NYPD says a video from Friday morning shows Goey Charles, 29, of Uniondale, removing the body of Vanessa Pierre, 29, of Hempstead, from his vehicle and leaving her on the side of the road.
Pierre was later found unresponsive. Her baby could not be saved. Charles was arrested Monday night.
Pierre’s family and friends were in Queens Criminal Court for Charles’ arraignment Tuesday afternoon where the prosecutor said surveillance video shows the couple sitting in his car for more than an hour. The prosecutor said Charles then strangled her and left her body on the sidewalk in front of a row of stores.
The prosecutor said Charles admitted to police it was his car in the video, but claimed he was urinating by the curb.
Charles pleaded not guilty and is due back in court on Friday. His attorney said the prosecutor was only giving his description of what he thinks he saw on the surveillance footage.
The video released by the NYPD may be disturbing to some readers.
