A nonprofit organization is asking for the city's permission to clean up run-down basketball courts in the South End of Stamford.
Full Court Peace is a nonprofit organization that seeks to unify communities through basketball. It hopes to refurbish the courts on the corner of Pacific and Henry streets for this purpose.
The proposed renovation calls for widening of the courts, replacing the old hoops with new ones and resurfacing the entire court to fix cracks.
Full Court Peace already has the money to fund the project, it just needs permission from the city before making the changes.
The organization says it wants to make the courts safe spaces where kids and the community can get together.
