New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is being slapped with a major lawsuit in the growing George Washington Bridge scandal.

Christie visited Fort Lee's mayor yesterday and apologized for charges his administration closed entrance lanes to the George Washington Bridge to deliberately tie up traffic into Fort Lee.

The move was alleged retribution because the mayor failed to endorse the governor's re-election.

In a two-hour press conference, Christie insists he's sad and stunned by the "abject stupidity" of the scheme.

Christie has fired his chief of staff and three others.
