DEER PARK - One man was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting outside Nite Owl Lounge in Deer Park early this morning.

Police say three people inside a white Cadillac pulled into the parking lot of the lounge when two people in a group standing outside fired shots at the vehicle.

According to police, the driver and passenger were struck and transported to a hospital. The group fled the scene in two vehicles.

The driver, 25-year-old Yves Jean Junior, of Wyandanch, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Officials say the passenger, who was struck in the chest, required surgery. The third person in the vehicle was not injured.

Police are investigating the shooting as a possible gang-related incident.
