SAYVILLE - A young Marine from Sayville received a hero's welcome as he returned home today following five years of service.

Lance Cpl. Christopher Morrissey, 22, joined the Marine Corps right after graduating from Sayville High School at age 18. He served three combat tours, two in Iraq and one in Afghanistan, and traveled to Japan to provide assistance after the devastating earthquake and tsunami.

A large group of family and friends surprised Morrissey at Long Island MacArthur Airport as he finally made his way back home. He says he wasn't expecting such a big, heartwarming turnout.
