FARMINGDALE - For 4-year-old Valentina Bravin, her days should be spent care-free, but instead, she is fighting a rare form of cancer.

Valentina was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) in April, a cancer which is inoperable and has a median survival rate of less than one year.

Her parents recently took her to MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital in Houston, Texas to receive 30 radiation treatments in hopes of shrinking the tumor.

Valentina is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Nov. 8 to see if the treatments work and her parents, Erik and Cristina Bravin, are hoping for a miracle.

The Bravins will be holding a fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 18 at the VFW in Lynbrook to raise money to help her fight the deadly cancer.
