WOODBURY - The Yankees are stepping up to the plate for a Long Island boy who's battling a devastating disease.Six-year-old Steven Heckman was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia nearly a year ago, and he's facing another two years of chemotherapy in hopes of treating it. Steven doesn't need a bone marrow transplant right now, but some of his hospital friends do. The Yankees have teamed up with nonprofit DKMS to bring bone marrow donor registry stations to Saturday's game. They will also give away red hats to symbolize the fight against blood cancer.To watch the full interview with Steven's mother, click iO Extra on Channel 612.
