THE BRONX - The New York Yankees need to win tonight to stay in the race for their 28th World Series ring. The decisive Game 5 of the ALDS between the Yankees and the Detroit Tigers is taking place in The Bronx tonight. It is the Yankees' first winner-takes-all game since Oct. 2005 when they lost in the division series to the Los Angeles Angels. Rookie Ivan Nova will take the mound for the Yankees and go up against Doug Fister, of the Tigers. Nova has 13 consecutive wins under his belt, but three months ago, he was sent to the minor leagues, raising concerns among some Yankees fans about tonight's game. If the Bronx Bombers defeat the Tigers, they will face the Texas Rangers in the American League championship series Saturday.
