FRANKLIN SQUARE - German soccer fans packed Plattdeutsch Park to watch the World Cup final between Argentina and Germany Sunday afternoon.

With German lager flowing in the beer garden, nearly 3,000 people showed up to celebrate their German heritage and watch the final game of the tournament.

Matt Buck, the restaurant’s general manager, says World Cup fever has boosted business and friendships over the past month.

Germany defeated Argentina 1-0 in extra time to win the final.
