MEDFORD - A gas station employee has been hospitalized after police say he was shot during an armed robbery at a Medford gas station.

According to police, the suspect approached the gas station just before 9 p.m. last night at the BP station on Route 112. The suspect demanded cash, then shot the clerk before taking off with money. The worker is listed in serious condition at Stony Brook Hospital.

The suspect is still on the loose and Suffolk County police are asking for anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
