WOODBURY - In 1980, Cecil Schiff was murdered in a push-in robbery in his Queens home. NYPD Detective David Jackle and his partner who arrived on the scene took fingerprints, but Newsday says no match was found at the time.

More than three decades later, the NYPD's Cold Case unit re-ran the prints using modern computer and DNA technology, and this time, there was a positive match.

A Queens man who is already serving time in a state prison on other charges has been indicted for Schiff's murder.
