Woman who threatened Rep. King fatally shot by GA police

WOODBURY - The woman accused of sending a bizarre package and a threatening note to Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford) was shot and killed by police in Georgia yesterday. Jameela Barnette had pleaded not guilty to mailing a bloody pig's foot to King and another New York lawmaker, state Sen. Greg Ball (R-Putnam), earlier this year. Both politicians had held hearings on the radicalization of American Muslims. Georgia police say they were responding to an alarm at an Atlanta apartment complex and when they knocked on Barnette's door, she jumped out with a knife. Officers opened fire, killing her. Barnette had a history of strange behavior, officials say. King called the shooting tragic but says police did what they had to do. Officials probe bloody pig's foot sent to Rep.
