Officials say a Lindenhurst woman was killed while trying to cross a busy highway in Suffolk.The incident happened last night on Sunrise Highway near Wellwood

LINDENHURST - Officials say a Lindenhurst woman was killed while trying to cross a busy highway in Suffolk.

The incident happened last night on Sunrise Highway near Wellwood Avenue in North Lindenhurst.

Investigators say Evelina Kulikovsky was walking in the westbound lanes when she was run down. The 34-year-old died at the scene.

No charges have been filed against the teenaged driver but police are investigating.
