Woman facing Leandra's Law charges after gas pump crash

LYNBROOK - A Lynbrook woman is accused of driving while high on drugs with her children in the car after crashing into a gas pump in Shirley.Officers say Jennifer Drodowicz hit one of the gas pumps at a station on William Floyd Parkway. According to police, Drodowicz's 4- and 5-year-old sons were in the car at the time.The crash caused minor damage to the pumps, and no one was injured.A Good Samaritan says she first called police when she spotted Drodowicz driving erratically. She says after she saw Drodowicz crash into the gas pump, she grabbed Drodowicz's keys and waited for police to arrive. A witness says police recovered a pill bottle from Drodowicz's vehicle. Drodowicz faces felony charges under Leandra's Law and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
