HUNTINGTON - Drunken driving charges were dropped today against a Long Island woman in a Huntington crash, but prosecutors have filed new charges against her in connection with a cover-up of what really happened.
Sophia Anderson was originally accused of plowing into a Huntington home while driving drunk in May. Anderson's ex-boyfriend, Daniel Sajewski, is now behind bars without bail, accused of being the real driver in the crash. Sajewski allegedly sweet-talked Anderson into taking the rap for him because he had a criminal record.
Anderson claims Sajewski told her the authorities would treat her lightly. Anderson also claims he told her he would post bail, pay for her attorney and take her on a vacation to the Hamptons.
Anderson now faces charges of conspiracy and obstruction of government administration, both misdemeanors, for lying to police about her involvement in the crash and subsequent cover-up.
