Woman accused in wrong-way DWI crash sentenced

A Westbury woman accused of driving drunk and causing a wrong-way crash on the LIE was sentenced to 90 days in jail, plus three years

WESTBURY - A Westbury woman accused of driving drunk and causing a wrong-way crash on the LIE was sentenced to 90 days in jail, plus three years of probation.

Prosecutors say Katelyn O'Connell had a blood alcohol level that was two times over the legal limit.

O'Connell drove west in the eastbound lanes and crashed into a Honda Civic.

The incident happened on the expressway in North Hills in November of 2010.

The driver of the Civic survived the crash.
