FAR ROCKAWAY - Witnesses will take the stand today in the trial of a Queens man charged in a plot to frame his ex-girlfriend.
In opening statements yesterday, prosecutors called Jerry Ramrattan a "puppet master."
Prosecutors told the jury that Ramrattan offered thousands of dollars to people to frame Seemona Sumasar of Far Rockaway.
Officials say Ramrattan wanted to keep his ex-girlfriend from testifying in her rape case against him.
Sumasar was jailed for seven months and falsely accused of posing as a police officer. For previous News 12 Long Island coverage of the Seemona Sumasar/Jerry Ramrattan case, go to your digital cable box and select iO Extra on Ch. 612.
