WOODBURY - ? The snow and frigid temperatures caused treacherous conditions this morning on the roads.

News 12 Long Island Meteorologist Rich Hoffman says a total of 2-5 inches accumulated over Long Island. Smithtown and Floral Park reported a total of 4 inches while Riverhead clocked in at about 3 inches.

Sanders, salt trucks and plows were out for hours, cleaning up the roads for commuters.

As temperatures are expected to drop into the teens tonight , officials are warning drivers to watch for freezing roads.
