HICKSVILLE - Wind and rain packed a one-two punch across Long Island today, causing damage to some parts of the island.

The strong winds knocked down and uprooted trees and rain made driving difficult or impossible for many drivers.

The storm is expected to continue through the overnight hours, dumping more rain. The winds are expected to continue to top 50 mph as well.

The storms have also caused more than 15,000 power outages across the island as of 10 p.m.
