CENTRAL ISLIP - A Huntington Station man is accused of driving drunk with his wife and kids in the car and then crashing into a home.

Police say Wilver Garcia-Lopez ran his car into the front stoop of a home on South Lane in Greenlawn, just a few doors away from a baby shower his family had just left. Investigators say his wife, 28-year-old Dorita DeGarcia, fled the scene with their three children, ages 2, 6 and 8, before medical help arrived.

Authorities say they found DeGarcia and the three children minutes later at the home where the baby shower had been held. All four were treated for minor injuries and released.

Lopez was arraigned in Central Islip this afternoon on charges of aggravated DWI and endangering the welfare of a child. DeGarcia was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
