LINDENHURST - Today's wet and windy weather has caused erosion and flooding concerns in some parts of the Island.

In Lindenhurst, storm drains filled up with water, raising fears of flooding, especially in low-lying areas such as Bayview Avenue.

The rain and wind gusting up to 50 mph also created havoc today for area airports and knocked out power for some at Jones Beach.

Jones Beach Park Director Sue Guliani says despite large waves and rip currents, so far there are no signs of erosion or water ponding anywhere in the park.
